About Cyprus Weather

With its superb Mediterranean climate Cyprus enjoys fine weather almost all year round, with approximately 340 days of sunshine per year.

The summer months are best for beach lovers, where day temperatures are very hot (around 90 F/33 C) and nights are warm and pleasant. The excellent climate means that the beaches are very welcoming until late into the year. Paphos has the finest climate on the island with cooler summers and short mild winters.

Most of the annual rainfall occurs from December to March. The Troodos Mountains on the Greek side (rising to more than 6,400 ft/1,970 m) are snow covered from mid January to mid March and are particularly beautiful in the autumn.

The swimming season starts in April and does not end until November. Pine forests are close to the coast and it is possible to ski in the mountains and swim in the blue Mediterranean in just one day.
